Yosemite 3

The waterfalls! I forget the name of the first fall we went to see, but the second two are called Upper and Lower Yosemite falls. The first one started with a N or a V, when Robby wakes up I'll ask him, I bet he will remember! I love waterfalls, they are just beautiful! Upper Yosemite Falls was the biggest, but it was also the scariest hike Robby and I have ever been on! When you got to the top there was no fence to keep you from falling off of the top and everything up there was covered with ice because half of the fall was frozen! Robby and I were queezy it was so high and scary! We stayed away from the edge!!!! This has been my favorite anniversay of the three we have had! It is going to be hard for Robby to ever top this plan!!!! I love you all and I am so excited about seeing you next week! Robby and I want to go a head and apologize to everyone who we don't get to hang out with very much! Our families, of course, will be given most of our time. We will do our best to visit everyone though, we do miss you all so so much! All of my love and prayers are with you guys ~ Andrea

These pictures are from the first days' hike! It was soooo cold! Robby and I had to wear lots of layers to stay dry! We look like Christmas!!! I could live in the mountains. If my family were here I would stay forever, there's nothing like this in Alabama...........

Yosemite 1

Robby took me to Yosemite for our three year anniversary and we stayed in a log cabin in the Valley for two nights. It was wonderful! I have never seen anything so beautiful and I have seen a lot of pretty places since we moved here! It snowed so deep that some parts came up to my knees! The mountains were breath taking and they surrounded our cabin. Robby and I went on two day hikes, both took us to see waterfalls! It was a great! We had breakfast waiting for us every morning and we packed lunches for our hikes. The pictures above are from our hikes! Happy Birthday Jesus!

She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. 8And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. 12This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger." Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, 14"Glory to God in the highest,and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests." 15When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about." 16So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

Berkeley Christmas!

Robby and I were out shoping and driving around last night and we saw this house with a giant peace sign on the side of it in lights! We just thought you guys might get a kick out of it, sorry the picture isn't that great!!

Christmas Time is coming soon!

This is the Santa that Ally and Jake sent us! I love it, I love it, I love it! I just might have to let him live on our coffee table all year! Isn't he just cute like the dough boy! Who's got a Charlie Brown Tree now!!!! Thanks to everyone who sent us gifts and cards in the mail; it really means a lot to us. Robby and I were feeling a little down and lonely about Christmas, but you guys have really made us feel loved, really special. Merry Christmas everyone! ~Dea

Christmas in San Francisco

To bring in the Holiday, Robby and I took the Bart to San Francisco Thursday and shopped all day! We went to the mall in Union Square on Powell Street and it was amazing! Like everything else here, it was huge and over done! The mall is like 13 stories high and there were lights and decortaions everywhere that would put the Galleria in Hoover to shame! We had a great time shopping, Robby has been spoiling me to death, buying me everything I even hint at wanting! We walked and walked and Robby's toe was just fine. We ate dinner at this hamburger place and then we took the Bart home and watched "Christmas Vacation"! It really was a good day, one that we have been needing this Christmas time!

Robby's last project!

Robby turned in his last project today for this semester! I can't believe that it is already over. I can't decide if it makes me sad or happy that our time here is half way over....... I mean, we really love California, but we love our families too. Maybe we can live in birmingham and I can travel nurse here in the summers. You know, that wouldn't be so bad. I could work three months a year here and make as much as I would in a year in Alabama, nurses are really under appriciated in Alabama. We need unions there too.... wow, I sound like a Californian! Gotta go, an hour long episode of The Office is on tonight and I'm going to cook Robby a good broken toe dinner before it starts!

Robby's Broken Toe

Well, Robby had his first indoor soccer game Wed night. He doesn't remember if he kicked the wall or someone, but he somehow managed to crush the bone inside his left big toe! It looked terrible, and he couldn't walk. It was pitiful! We went to the ER and were there until 3am! I have to take Robby to a specialist Tuesday because the bone looked so bad the ER doc wanted a specialist to take a look at it! It really stinks cause it is the begining of Rob's Christmas break and now we can't really do anything fun! This is the worst Christmas ever..........

Celebrate, Celebrate, dance to the music!

Everybody celebrate!!! The schedule changes I made were approved and Robby and I bought tickets to come home!!! I am so excited I can't stand it! We are leaving after I get off of work on December 31 from the San Fancisco airport at 10:45 pm. I actually think it will be kind of cool to bring in the New Year on a plane! We are going to change flights in Charlotte, NC, and then arrive in Birmingham on January 1, 2007, at 10:15 am! We will be happily in Birmingham until January 8. Then that morning we will take the 8am flight from Birmingham to Charlotte, NC. Then from Carlotte we will go to Philadelphia, and from there we will arrive in SF at 5:26pm! We were pretty excited that we were able to work it out to where we only lost one day flying! Well, I am about to go to bed, I worked today and I will work tomorrow too! I'm pretty tired! Plus, since Robby has reviews coming up and won't play with me, I am going to open myself up to work this weekend and make some extra mula to pay for those plane tickets!! So I need all of the rest I can get! I love you all and I can't wait to see everyone! Have a great weekend. ~Andrea

It's Christmas Time, Charlie Brown!

The stockings I "embroidered", and the star I made for the top of our tree! Ok, so do you guys remember watching Charlie Brown's Christmas story when you were little, and when Charlie Brown brings in the Christmas tree Lucy says, "Charlie Brown, you blockhead"? Well, that's what our little tree reminded Robby of! It's kind of funny because we have this little corner in our house all decorated for Christmas! Robby and I spent a long time looking at plane tickets on the internet yesterday, but we didn't buy any yet. We are probably going to wait until I get the dates I switched totally approved before we buy them. It should all work out though. Nothing to great has happened here since I last wrote you guys. Robby is nervous because he is presenting a paper he wrote on "Spersopolis" today in class. It's hard to explain, but it is just about a kind of residential development that moved away from downtowns into more rural areas........ His semester is wrapping up and he is working all of the time. I am just working a lot too! Nursing is a lot harder than I thought it would be. It is fun sometimes, but I'm not sure that ICU nursing is what I am going to continue to do forever. It is a little too stressful and I don't want to be stressed all of the time, especially when we have kids. I'm just praying that God will open up whatever position in whatever type of nursing He wants me to do when we move back to Birmingham. I'm just going to tough it out here, it's too late for me to find another job, and one of us has to work! :) Well, I'm about to go get money to wash clothes and then go for a run! I love you guys, Happy Holidays!

The good news and the Bad

Well guys, The bad news is that I have to work a 12 hour shift on Christmas day! I figured that I would, but it still makes me really sad. I miss everyone so much. The worst part about it is that Robby will be here all by himself on Christmas, all day long. The good news is that I made some switches with people and, IF everything works out, I will have January 1-8 off to come home and visit and I will only have to take one vacation day! That would work great because Robby doesn't start back to school unitl the 9th! Man, this weekend was rough. I worked Saturday and a lot of people called in sick yesterday so I worked 16.5 hours Sunday! I mean, they didn't make me or anything, but it was still draining. Robby has been doing a lot of school work lately. His semester ends December 13 and he is getting really anxious and worried about all of his projects getting finished. As always, I am sure he will do fine, just keep him in your prayers for me. Well, Im going to go now, I think I am going to get a Christmas tree today and surprise Robby with it when he gets home to try and chear him up about me making him miss Christmas. I love you all and I will talk to you later. I promise that the next post will be much more upbeat! ~Dea
