She is getting soo big!

Clara's doctor says it is ok for her to sleep on her tummy now and she LOVES it! But we only let her use her binky during naptime (anything to get her to take a nap!) Today she started tugging on her left ear... I'm worried that it is an ear infection... but I also read babies do that when they start to teeth... anyways, we are getting things ready to go. Tomorrow we pack the pod and Saturday we clean the apartment! We are leaving early Sunday for our big adventure. This is going to be a fun trip! Since we are finishing up packing, this will probably be my last post until we get to Birmingham around September 16 or so. I am planning on continuing to do this even when we don't live so far away. I promised my friends at work I wouldn't stop! Ok, well, good night everybody. We will see you soon!!

Packing

Wow! Packing is really hard with a three month old baby, but we are getting things ready to go! I have become a Craig's list and Berkeley Parent's Network mastermind and have been able to sell almost everything we wanted to get rid of before we left. It is really fun and I have met some really nice people! Clara had her 4 month old doctor's appointment today. She weighs almost 15 pounds and is almost 26 inches long! The doctor says that she is in the 90% for height and 75% for weight! She kept joking about how funny it will be when my 12 year old is taller than me! Clara did all of her tricks for her and the doctor said she was very "advanced in her motor skills"! I was so proud. Well, I better get back to packing! I love you guys!

Saturday with jobless parents!

Mommy letting Clara practice standing on her tummy! She has started licking everything! After bath time Friday Clara and I went for a walk with Beth and Miaka. It was really cold! This has been a good weekend. I went and met Margie for lunch today and Robby and I spent the rest of the day booking hotels and playing with Clara. Robby is addicted to priceline.com!

Getting ready to come home

Clara and I made breakfast for daddy this morning! Clara is getting really good at picking things up and putting them in her mouth! This is kind of scary! I think she might be starting to teeth.... unless it's too early. I don't know, but she drools a ton, she chews on everything, and she is a little cranky! Well, tomorrow is daddy's last day at work! We are making progress selling things on Craig's list! It is amazing how many people want our junk!! We have also been planning our trip back. It is getting really complicated... but sooo much fun! I have also been busy saying my goodbyes... eating out a lot with people, and taking Clara around to see people. I am going to miss so much about this place. Tomorrow we have our last playdate with Miaka and Beth....

Ben's Birthday!

Just hanging out in our Bjorns! My friend Miaka made his Saturn birthday cake! She is the same person who made my baby shower cake. Beth's son, Ben, turned 1 Friday and they had a Birthday Party for him yesterday. It was Clara's first birthday party and she had a lot of fun! She was the youngest baby there, but you couldn't even tell! She was just as big as some of the 5 and 6 month old little girls there! A lot of people acted really surprised when I told them that she was only 3 and a half months old! Miaka also wanted to know where Clara got her red hair from!

Superbaby Saturday

Tonight, Clara called out for me, so I went into her room just like I always do. But this time when I walked over to her she was sucking her thumb and put herself back to sleep!! Yea Clara! Such a big girl! Clara's bib kept getting turned around backwards today. Robby and I thought it was funny and called her Superbaby all day! She laughed for her daddy today. She has been laughing for me for a few days now, but her dad has never heard it. So today I tried really hard and got her to laugh for him! It was a good laugh, snort snort, laugh!! I just can't wait for you guys to meet her. We just finished posting some stuff to sell on Craig's list. I really hope it all sells... we have a lot of stuff to get rid of.

Play Day!

Sometimes I think Clara looks so much like her Mamaw! Soo Strong! She loves that thumb! Someone at Baby Boot Camp asked me where my daughter's red hair came from!!! I said, "What red hair"!!! These are some pictures that I took this morning while Clara and I were playing! She is such a big girl now! Look how her feet almost hang off of the swing ! I love those rolly thighs too!

Good weekend.

We took Clara on a walk Saturday morning after we woke up to get donuts, but it was SO cold we had to bundle up! Then Saturday afternoon we took Clara on a short hike at Tilden. It was a really pretty view and we had a good time. Oh, and we weighed Clara today, she is 14 pounds!!!!!! I really can't believe how fast she has grown. She really looks totally different now and she can do so much. It is amazing how children grow.

12 days!

Thanks, Uncle Rhett, for the cool European outfit!!! The back buttons funny!! This is Clara bundled up for our run this morning! Yes, that's right, it is COLD here!!!! How hot is it in Alabama again? Oh dear!!!!! What are we doing!!! But now it's official, Robby and I have both quit our jobs!! Robby only has 12 days of work left! Clara and my passports came in the mail today!! Road trip here we come!!! We will be leaving California August 31, and should end up in Birmingham sometime near the end of September. This time we are going to drive way up through Canada and then back East and then South!

The Mall

We took Clara to the mall this weekend and she LOVED it! Robby and I took turns carrying her around in the Bjorn and she smiled and squealed and talked to everyone! She is quite the shopper! She was so tired by the time we got home that she slept almost 6 hours straight! She has NEVER slept that long! Too bad it was from like 6 until 11:45, but still........
