We spend most of our days at the kitchen table. Clara loves projects... she could paint or draw or glue things all day. I have to force her to do other things....
She helped me clean windows and doors outside the house this week... she is my big helper. I'm so proud of her.
We are loving this weather. I have found that I love to work in the yard as much as my dad does. The past couple of days Clara and I have dug up and moved our rose bushes and planted all sorts of things in the yard. I have decided to start a garden in the backyard and have begun a compost pile. Clara loves to help me, and that makes me happy. Some of my best memories are from helping my dad in the yard. It is really fun to work in the yard and there is something rewarding about feeling like you are lessening your carbon footprint by recycling and gardening. I bought some organic fertilizer for my roses, but I didn't see the tiny writing on the package that said this product smells like someone pooped in a bag.... it was terrible! My whole car was unbearable by time we got home! But the roses are looking beautiful, so I guess it worked! Clara has been busy playing in a pile of gravel that our contractor has left in our driveway for a few weeks, apparently waiting until the weather is right or the stars are aligned or something to finish the job that he started before THANKSGIVING.... but she told me the other day that he was her favorite person for leaving so many fun things in our driveway for her to play with... and I just want to be able to park in the carport again... :) I am sorry it has been so long since I have blogged, there still isn't really a great computer for me to blog at since the old one fried... Rob has a laptop now, but he is working on a competition and is using it most of the time and I can't figure out how to put pictures on the ipad! It is ok, Clara is really the only thing I ever blog about and I seriously doubt there are too many people who aren't in my family or are friends from Cal that read this :) When we lived in Cal, life was a little less busy and a lot more adventurous and interesting to blog about. I wouldn't trade it though, here we have family, and we could have never afforded a yard, or even a house in Cal. So for now, I will happily post the latest cute picture of Clara, or some interesting trip to the zoo, or the fact that I just learned how to tile a kitchen backsplash by myself...... there's nothing else I'd rather do :)
