Random pictures

Clara's little pocket was just the right size for my cell phone! I got Clara a new sunhat today because her other one was too big and kept flying off. I think this Flap Happy hat is adorable! Play time Clara is starting to have better control over her hands. She is starting to reach out to toys purposefully. We have started working on taking naps alone in her crib. She is doing ok, but it has been a battle of will! She is pretty much cranky a lot now because she isn't sleeping s long as she does when she is in the sling, but my back is starting to suffer! So, I decided it was time to teach her to take naps without me holding her.......she thinks differently about that!

Play time

Clara loves to kick things with her legs and her favorite toy is that singing star!

Weather

Saturday it was pretty Hot, like 85, so Clara wore her new outfit from Mary! I remember thinking it was so big when I opened it, and now it fits her just right! I can't believe how big she is! She has started sticking both pf her hands in her mouth to suck on them! If you make the picture bigger you can actually see how wet her hands are with spit! Today, Sunday, it was really cold! The weather here is so unpredictable! It was in the 60s! Robby and I went shopping today and bought some summer clothes! In the past two years we haven't really bought anything for really hot weather and we know it is probably miserably hot in Alabama! We even got Clara some little tank top onsies!

Pictures from the last few days

"Will I ever have thick hair"!! In this picture you can really see Clara's cow lick on the right side (your left) of her head! Mommy got me a new toy! It's called a bumboo and it is a little seat that helps her hold herself up! It is so cute. It comes with a tray so she can sit and eat in it when she starts solids! "Hmmm, how does this thing work"? Last night was the first night we let Clara sleep without her arms swaddled by her side! She woke up A LOT! But, we decided it must be time to let her arms free since we actually had to cut open the bottom of the sleep sack we were swaddling her in when her legs got too long! Now, she has a new pink sleep sack for big girls! It doesn't have the swaddle wings attached to it! The Halo sleep sack is a SIDS prevention blanket. It is like a wearable blanket that she can't get tangled up in while she sleeps. Robby and I couldn't remember where we had seen this pose before, but this is how she sleeps! My little green pea! Oh, how she loves this dragon! Well, this has been a fun week. Clara gets more and more active every day! I absolutely love to play with her. I almost can't get anything else done! I had to pack up all of Clara's 0-3 month clothes today after we did laundry! She can't wear any of them! She is at least 24 inches long and around 14 pounds! We are now in 3-6 month clothes and I just realized I haven't even bought her any 6-12 month clothes! For some reason I have been obsessed with buying her 12-18 month clothes lately! Everything is on sale and it is all so cute! My mom keeps telling me to stop because that is what grandmother's are for, but I just can't help it! I think I am going to have to start working again just to feed this new habit of mine!

Baby boot Camp

This is a picture that I snuck today at baby boot camp. I didn't know how people would feel about me putting their kid's picture on the internet, so I just waited and got in the back of the squat line and took this picture! Baby boot camp has been really fun. There are actually 2 other little girls there named Clara and one named Cora that we play with. I have enjoyed going so much and Clara is getting a little better every time we go!

SOOO BIG!!!

11 weeks old! 3 Days old! 11 weeks 11 weeks Robby and I wanted to post these pictures together so you guys could see just how much Clara has grown! She was so little when she came home from the hospital and now she has DOUBLED her weight already!!

Lafayett Reservoir

Today we took Clara to the Lafayett Reservoir to walk around and be outside. It was really beautiful and there was actually a lot of stuff there to do. There were paddle boats and fishing and hiking and canoes. We weren't sure if this was supposed to be Lafayett's drinking water or not.... I mean, if so, they sure had a lot of signs warning people not to eat the fish that they caught in the lake due to toxins! Needless to say, we didn't drink out of the water fountains just in case!Yea for us! This is all of the equipment we packed for this trip!!
Clara and her daddy at the picnic tables The reservoir was really pretty. Can you believe how big this girls eyes are!! I think she was getting a little tired of all of the pictures and of the hiking. And did I mention how big her eyes are!!!!!!!! Time to go home, everyone was tired from the big day.

Spending time with daddy

It's fun to spend time with daddy in the mornings before he goes to work.

It's weekend!

Princess Clara and her new crown! We bought it at Michael's, it just needs to be decorated! Today mommy went on her first run by herself! As I was running and crying a little because I missed Clara, I realized it was the very first time I had been alone without her for 10 months, 10 weeks, and 2 days! It was a very good run though, and daddy had fun with Clara while I was gone! This is daddy holding her asleep when I got home! Clara in her sling, after mommy took it off, she was just hanging out. Clara has now realized that she has hands and feet, but she is much better at controlling her feet than her hands! She really likes to kick the wings of this dragon that Paola gave her. They crinkle when she kicks them!

First time at the park

Ready to go to the park! See the slide in the background behind Clara. Sadly, there was no one else at the park today. We will have to venture out there again to try to meet friends some other time! Wouldn't you want to be her friend! It was a little cold in the shade, so we didn't stay very long.
Looking over daddy's shoulder Practicing sitting up like a big girl! Today was a fun day. Clara and I just hung out together and had a "Clara day" since I drug her around all day yesterday to run errands. We even decided to go to the park this afternoon. It was really fun.

Hot days!

The weather here has been unusually hot, so Clara has been able to wear some of her cute bubble suits! Look at those chubby legs, and I swear her hair looks red!!! She loves her singing star Oh look, my hands! Today was laundry day, have I ever mentioned how much Clara HATES this day! It's like she can sense it when she wakes up or something! Today was extra miserable because it is so hot and of course the laundry mat isn't air conditioned! But the lady who owns the laundry mat, Christine, has become my friend over the last year and she helps me a lot! When I was pregnant she used to get on to me for doing "too much work". She says that Asian culture is so different than ours, and that when she was pregnant her mother wouldn't let her do anything. She laid on the couch and her mother stayed with her and her husband for almost a year after her daughter was born to help so she wouldn't do to much work! I really like her, I am going to give her a gift when we leave to say thanks for all of her help! I am pretty sure I would have broken down into tears yesterday if she hadn't been there! It was a hard day! My buggy full of groceries dumped over in the parking lot for some unknown reason (just goes to show that I'm not crazy for refusing to put Clara's car seat on a buggy!) Christine ran out of the laundry mat and helped me pick it all up, she didn't have to, she is just nice like that! It reminds me how we should all go out of our way to help someone out when we can, even when they don't ask for it.
