Clara Rolls over!

Ok, so I couldn't get the camera on fast enough to get her rolling onto her side, but I promise she did it by herself! This is Clara rolling over! Oh yeah, and the funny noise in the background is Tony trying to unclog the drain!

All hands on

This is a video that Valerie took with her camera. She thought it was funny because me, Robby, and Rhett are all trying to put Clara into the stroller at the same time! Also, at the end of the video it shows you that we are in the Redwood forest, and yet we are all paying all of our attention to Clara's needs! She is one loved baby.. someone please email me if this video doesn't work.

Remember how big this hat was on her on mother's day! We have had a lot of fun with Rhett and Valerie over the past few days. Today we just took it easy and hung out here. The only bad thing is that our plumbing is still shot. In fact, it is much worse! Tony (our Landlord) was unable to fix it yesterday and now it has become a huge project! This morning I flushed the toilet and suddenly our tub bubbled and filled up with this horrible brown stuff! Tony brought some snake machine thingy out here and was trying to unclog the drains, but now he says it isn't in the apartment, it's outside under the ground.... we are thinking about going to a hotel. We have been using Tony's mom's bathroom all night and it is a little hard to explain to someone who doesn't speak English that you need to use their bathroom! The last time I went up there I think that she thought I was hungry and she gave me some rice wrapped in a green leaf! Anyways, Tony is rigging the toilet right now so we can use it for tonight. He says it should be fine as long as we don't use it too much! Side note: I have a video of Clara rolling over! I am going to try to post that next! ~ Andrea

Napa Valley

Sadly, this is the only picture I have from when we went to Napa Valley yesterday. It is hard to remember to take pictures when you have a baby to take care of too! Today I had a Doctor's appointment and Clara went with me. She was worn out from all her travels and fell asleep like this! I thought it was cute how her little foot is sticking out. Rhett and Valerie are at Alcatraz Island today. I will post pictures when I get some. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Mnt. Tam

Rhett & Valerie on top of Mnt. Tamalpias. Robby set the timer and ran to get into the picture and I uncovered Clara at the last second.. that's why we look so funny! So far we have all had a great time with Rhett and Valerie. It was our first time to meet Valerie and she has been such a joy to be around. The first day they were here we took them to Muir Woods and Mnt. Tam. The weather has been perfect. Clara has been a very good traveler! I love the picture of her daddy holding her because her eyes look so blue next to his shirt. Valerie has more pictures on her camera and I will post some of those when I get them from her. Just wanted to let everyone know what was going on.

Glued to the rocker!

I think I am slowly becoming glued to this chair! But doesn't Clara look like she is sleeping well! She was finally "out" enough for me to try and put her in her bed! See how big she is getting! This picture also shows a great view of the tooth I had to have pulled last Thursday! I am going to get an implant in August, but for now I will just have to be toothless! Right now we are at home waiting for daddy to get Uncle Rhett and Valerie!

Good Night

When I was a little girl, I used to swear that the grown-ups would have a party after they put me to bed! I just knew that they ate bags of candy and watched movies and drank soda all night. But now I know the truth. The truth is that as soon as I went to bed my mom would frantically run around trying to get all of the things done that she couldn't do during the day while she was playing with me! Last night, as soon as Clara was out enough for me to put her in the bed, Robby and I ran around moving furniture and cleaning the house for when Rhett and Valerie get here tomorrow! There are always dishes half washed or the floor is half swept, because as soon as she wakes up I drop everything to be with her. It's just wonderful! Our days are going by so fast. I can't believe she is already over a month old!

The way things are...

Well, lately mommy has had to be creative in order to get anything done! Apparently, Clara has decided that no one else is allowed to hold her but mommy.... not daddy, not Paola, not Beth, not the swing, not the car seat, not the floor, not her bed...... people we have tried everywhere! She can go from a happy grin to a screeching cry in seconds if I try to hand her off and what seems like a deep sleep in which mommy can wash dishes, listen to music, or talk on the phone quickly turns into a blood curling squill if I try to take her out of the sling and put her down! Today, I ate lunch like this! If you look closely at the picture above she has a death grip on my shirt, and what you can't see is that she puts her other arm UP my sleeve and holds onto any skin she can grab!
