California storms leave 440,000 without power! It has been raining for days here, but the strange thing is that I have seen heavier rain before in the South. The storms here really don't have thunder or lightening! The other day at work there was this light sound of what might have been thunder and everyone looked up and went "oooo"! It is the way things are built here. So, high and up on mountains and on the side of steep hills, that when the ground gets wet it collapses. Houses slide down hills, power lines and trees come up out of the soft ground. It is kind of scary.
